STALKY McSTALKER...

Aussie Vogue (April 2010) had an addicitive two page spread titled 'pret-a-porter' showing who and what the 'style set' are stalking online. High profile cool cats spill on their favourite sites and blogs. Drool...

Garances fave, The Selby - I...am...in...love. Real people with real, messy, vibrant, creative interiors. This will be my one stop shop for all interior inspiration. Well my first stop anyway.

Random image from the all the other random images on Jah Jah Sphinx, preferred by Richard Nicoll for it's open pointlessness.

But we all know blog stalking can spiral out of control before you even know it's happening. And then you end up with a tonne of images from new sites you found and old faithfuls. And they are hot. And you wish you were a photographer.

Birdy and Me - inspiration and illustration hybrid

Illustration genius at Magda Antoniuk

But you're not a photographer, so you go back to your Interior Design assigment so you can one day be just like Mr 'The Selby'. Sigh...

And by 'you' I mean 'I'.

SNOW BABES AND STUDS

I've been obsessng over retro snow pics lately (said while honking with laughter at the ski-skirt combo and the thought of the heavy duty undies you would need underneath the skirt - snort) And while the ladies back then obviously prioritised femininity and fabulousness over form and function, the old fellars kept is just as dapper on the mountain as they did off it - bless...

TO BE OR NOT TO BE

Soccer and fashion are two words that just don't seem to belong in the same sentence - for me it tends to conjure up images of botoxed WAGs, Victoria Beckhams designs (ick) and players (and playahs) who are tanned, buffed and gelled to perfection (I just spewed in my mouth a little bit).

BUT I guess New Zealand and Wellington in particular are pretty far removed from that scene and it really surprised me (in a good way) to see that this new tobe shoe label is the brainchild of the Wellington Phoenix player Tim Brown and his brother from the same mother (huge assumption there but I just wanted to say it), Paul.

Although I'm not sure it's wise pitting yourself against everyones fave, Chucks (which have been pretty well ALIVE for the last 100 or so years), it's a ballsy way to kick off a campaign and create some interest around the new kicks on the block (oh that's a good one - they really should have asked ME to come up with their ad campaign - haha!).

tobe shoes are a pretty smooth looking product with extreme sex-slash-street appeal and a pervalicious site that keeps drawing me back to check out the photography if nothing else. While they haven't listed any stockists I did notice that Good As Gold are in on the action already and there is a pop up store coming soon...

WELLINGTON TOBE POP-UP STORE

April 16 - 18, 12-7pm, Cnr Wigan and Taranaki St

AUCKLAND TOBE POP-UP STORE

April 24th, 12-7pm, 323 Queens St

p.s. We get to see them before, and longer, than Aucklandia does. YUS.

p.p.s Check out the trailer on their site, it's scary!

I went on bit of a photo rampage around my house this morning  taking snaps of my favourite things...

Bits and pieces on a shelf in the lounge

Art: a print from Trade Me; Photos I took of Andy playing guitar; a print I bought at a market in Barcelona

Flower I found on a walk and just re-found hiding in a swan vase all dried up

Andys Nikes - love them, love the quilting, the colours and the mix of leather, satin and suede.

Sony headphones - crucial

One of Andys Guitars with stickers from over the years

Art deco lighting: one of our ceiling lights; lamp from Iko Iko

The wall above our bed: full of inspiring pictures of friends, family, snow, skating, summer, art

Some bags: Old purse from my Great Aunty Lyn that's so delicate something falls off every time you pick it up; silver clutch I found in a $5 bin in Dunedin, my turqouise leather travel wallet (from Red Currant) that took me around Europe and made sure I didn't lose a single thing which is unheard of for me; black el-cheapo but hot clutch; 50 cent curduroy and leather bag from Salvation Army; green, SOFT, leather bag my Mum had when she was young.

Eighties revival: ELF toy from the 80's;  red leather ankle boots from the 80's, another item stolen off Mum

Hand painted ceramic tiles from Craft 2.0

Calfy: my uber-special satchel from Carcessone in France.

My Diana F+ with a strap I found on Ebay that has a little leather pocket attached and and 'A' on it just for me!!

Sterling silver necklace made for me by my sister Rose (and her friend Phoebe)
Fun game! I heart house stuff.
